    X.XXV.MMXII would be your wedding date in roman numerals, I think. Google? I really don’t have an opinion if you should get it or not, which is strange because I have an opinion for just about anything. Hah! Sealed

    I voted for no tattoo because I’m just not a fan (sorry!).  But if I had to choose one, I’d probably go for the numbers instead of Roman numberals.  I think it looks ‘cleaner’, if that makes sense.

    Actually, it would be X.XXV.MMXII

    M=1000

    X=10

    V=5

    I=1

    When a number is followed by a smaller value, you just add them up!

    That, however, is a date in Roman numerals, but not a Roman date.

    …not that it matter. I’ve got a PhD in this stuff though so to me, I’d want to either leave it Arabic or go all the way Roman.

    @mrsSonthebeach:  If that was a reply to me, I realized I made an oopsie after I posted and fixed 25, but didn’t see if anyone had already posted after me.

    I’m interested to see in all the responses you get, OP.

    @LiliKitty:  No worries. I’ve just seen so many wrong tattoos in Latin and in Roman numerals that I had to fix it. The breakdown of the math was for OP, though, not you.

    I am a tattoo lover, but I am very leery of putting dates, names, or portraits on my body.  For me it would be tempting the fates.  Have you considered doing something else like something that reminds you of him?  I have a spark that I had done, I call Darling Husband sparky, so to me it symbolizes him without putting something specific on myself.

    Arabic numbers are 1-2-3-4 etc and Roman numbers are the IVXM ones.

    I wouldn’t do it in roman numerals, personally. Clearly the “roman” thing is not personal to you, and it’s not authentic, anyway, so I would just pass. I wouldn’t really get one at all (especially if your Fiance is against it!!), but, if you’re set on it, I would go with the first option listed in your poll.

    @les105:  +1

    I voted for the first option, only if you are set on it otherwise I vote no tatoo.

    If I were to use Roman numerals I would use the whole year, because I think it’s cool, with the M V III etc… but for our numbers, just the 12 would do, not 2012, that’s too much, since you have 2 numbers for the month and the day, just the 2 numbers for the year so it balances out.
