Because of reasons regarding FI’s visa, we will have to honeymoon within in the continental United States.
Any suggestions or reviews? I am looking at Monterey,Napa Valley, Sonoma, Outer Banks. Any other suggestions or reviews on these locations? Have you been someplace that was surprisingly romantic? We’re getting married in August and would like to leave soon after. Budget is not an issue.

Lake Tahoe! I’ve never been and I have no idea what it’s like so maybe other Bees can weigh in, but I’ve always heard it was beautiful!
ETA: I also have two friends who are honeymooning in Oregon. They’ve shown me pictures of where they are staying and it looks beautiful and very romantic! They’re right on the ocean, but it’s not like a Florida beach. Very different.

I’ve never been to Napa but it’s at the top of my “places to vacay” list. I’m HOPING we’ll be able to incorporate a few nights there into our honeymoon if we do Canada like we’ve recently discussed. I’ve heard Savannah, GA is pretty and quiet & romantic too but again, I’ve never been.

@soontobemrsm11: +1. I was just going to suggest Savannah. It’s lovely and super romantic (and FUN!). Fiance and I take regular weekend trips there and it’s always great.

@TaurianDoll: Monterey,Napa Valley, Sonoma
Some of my favorite places in the world…and I just happen to live in Sonoma. September is harvest month here in the valley so there are tons of fabulous activities. If you can wait until mid to late September you might be lucky to see the color changes which is beyond amazing.
This area is incredibly romantic. If you don’t want to spend all your time within the valleys there is Bodega Bay (35 minutes), Monterey (about 2 1/2 hours), San Francisco (45 minutes) etc. There are tons of things to do around here that range greatly from active to casual, nature to city focused. Plus the food and drink is out of this world.
Can you tell I’m obsessed with where I live??

The Dunton Hot Springs in Telluride…amazing place, all inclusive, rustic, private and romantic.

@Nona99: I have always wanted to go to Telluride. Not a skier…avid snow bunny.

@Treejewel19: I my orthopaedic surgeon catches me skiing, he’ll kill me…I just like to hang out and drink hot buttered rum in a pair of leggins and those extra slutty fluffy boots…it’s a way to go

What do you want to do for your honeymoon?
Post # 14
@TaurianDoll: I had this dilemma (when working with a K-1 visa!) and I thought the US Virgin Islands was a perfect location to honeymoon and still stay within the US!
It is romantic, beachy, secluded and still in the good old US of A!

@KimmySumShuga: Did you have any issues getting back in the states? He has an H-1B.
