I prefer the more coppery color of 14k, but both are gorgeous!

Here is a photo from when I was trying on wedding rings. My engagement ring is 14k. The band I was trying on is 18k. I find that 18k is more peach, and that 14k is more pink, but the difference is not crazy apparent.

I just want to show you the variation in 18k gold… both band and ring are 18k rg, but the ring is noticeably pinker.

Here’s mine, 14k. Got it in a few different lightings:

Top: morning sun coming through blinds

bottom left: sunny day in the car

bottom center and right: fluorescent, with a hint of sun, probably. My desk is kinda close to the window-wall

I personally love the 14k. Rosier, obviously not yellow, etc. And in my opinion it’s the most neutral of the metals. 18k is still a little too warm for my taste.

@busybee3791:  I have an 18K Engagement Ring and a 14K wedding band.

I find that my 18K e-ring looks almost yellow gold when alone but the 14k wedding band enhances it to where they almost look the exact same when on.

My husbands band is two-tone platinum and 18k rose gold. Thought you might like to see the contrast-

busybee3791:  I don’t have rose-gold, but I’ll still chime in.

18k will be more “pure-gold” but 14k will be harder since it’s mixed with other metals.

14k rose gold. I’ve never owned any 18k rose gold because I like the pinkish color of 14k over the peachy color of 18k

Rose gold looks different depending who is making it and how it’s finished I think. I prefer the more matte finish light pink/warm blush of 18k especially at Cartier and T&C (very subtle) over the coppery 14k. And copper is more brittle than gold, so there’s that.
