No hate from me, I’d be curious to see it set. Regarding the strength of the setting that’s somewhat of a guess based on how much you use your hands and/or take off your rings to work. Platinum is stronger than yellow or rose gold (not necessarily 18K white gold), but it is softer and scratches more easily. The scratches, however, don’t show as readily as they do with gold. In you place I’d base my choice on which colour appeals to you more and what looks best with your skn tone.

I remember another bee asking about a horse head diamond but I forget what metal she chose….

Unique and awesome! Personally I suggest platinum for the setting.

Platinum. Keep the diamond icy white. Please, please post pics if you go through with the purchase, I would be most intrigued to see!

I have never seen one before, how unique!!

I personally LOVE rose gold and the contrast between the white of the diamond and the pink of the gold is my favorite, but I know that platinum is more durable in the sense that when it gets scratches rather than the metal flaking off with the scratch it is just displaced, so it is more durable in that way, but rose gold is so pretty and is still a very durable metal. What ever you decide, please post final pics!!!

Wow! That’s so cool. I’m glad you posted an image cuz I had no idea what you were talking about. I’d probably set it in platinum, although I’m having a hard time picturing what a setting for this diamond would look like. Please update us with pics once you’ve got it all finished!!

I think a rose gold bezel would look very nice. This diamond appears to be colorless, so rose gold would contrast beautifully.

Rose gold! Like western colours!!!! A small turquoise stacking band would be killer next to that diamond in the rose! Don’t forget to post pics after its done!!

Honestly I think classic equestrian is yellow gold! Rose gold is so trendy right now… It’s not an option but YG is my vote.

veronica.sampley.1:  This is … amazing!! I love your horse-shaped diamond. I’ve never seen one like that, and had no idea such a shape even existed. How beautiful! I love horses, so I think a ring with a horse diamond would be the most fantastic thing ever. A bezel setting would be so gorgeous, too. It will really show off the shape of your amazing stone.

I have no vote on metal, so I’m not going to be at all helpful with this. If it were me, I would go platinum, just because I like white metals with my own skin tone. But it would also be beautiful in rose or yellow gold.
