As many of you know from my former post, Fiance bought me a gorgeous heart diamond (.74, E, VS2 I think?) for my 30th birthday and had it set in a rose gold solitaire (G&Co replica, made by our local jeweler). This is always what I said I wanted, and had Fiance not had an heirloom diamond, what I would have chosen for my e-ring! Same size, same shape, same setting!
So, for some reason the ring felt off to me at first … and I didnt know why. Long story short, I looked at about (not kidding) 30 other settings, and I even considered making the stone into a pendant instead, but in the end, I decided I love the setting I have!! 🙂 After being at the jeweler most of the morning, Fiance was like ………….
ANYWAY, I discovered that the problem was not the ring, the problem was trying to wear it on my right hand. It just didnt look right, wasn’t enough, something was wrong. Today I happened upon a band I have had for ages (gift from my mom) which is a 7 stone yellow gold u-prong. I tried that on with my birthday ring and BAM! This is it!!! I LOVE IT. Love the combination of rose and yellow gold, love the warmer mixed tones with my skin, love the solitaire with the blingy band, and the ring just feels “at home” on my left hand!! So now, unconventional though it may be, I technically have two wedding sets that I adore! Funny how simply moving FINGERS made all the difference!!
And now, on to the pictures I took on my iPhone sitting here on the sofa in sweats while Fiance watches Argo and rolls her eyes at this whole fiasco 😉
