So I want to use rose petals for our exit from the reception. It will be at night but lights will be on so rose petals are the thing that people will probably be able to see the most (other than sparklers, which aren’t allowed at our venue).
Has anyone ordered petals from Petal Garden? They have a great website and customer service–they have also been featured in a ton of movies and tv shows. I just ordered some samples of their freeze-dried petals in three colors to see what they are like. I think this would be cheaper than ordering fresh petals from our florist and they are biodegradable so we wouldn’t have to run around picking up silk petals.
They are rather pricy…not horrible but I personally don’t want to spend too much money on things I am just throwing into the wind. Does anyone have any other suggestions that would show up at night and in pictures? I think bubbles would be invisible and too soapy. What about rice? I need ideas!!

A lot of venues will not allow rice because its bad for birds. You could do birdseed, or lavender buds? I never considered lavendar buds, but I saw a posting on here about them. I guess they smell good, show up well on camera, and are less expensive than rose petals. I was also thinking about ordering petals from the Petal Garden. Let us know how they turned out.

Do you want a toss? Or would getting glow sticks work for you? I think you can get a tube of them at Target for about a dollar, so that’d would provide about 8 or 10 color sticks. One bright alternative to sparklers.

Well I was talking to Fiance about this and he imagined the toss being at the church immediately after the ceremony. I was thinking it would happen when we leave the reception for our honeymoon…
When is everyone doing their toss?

Since we’ll be finishing up pictures after the ceremony I decided to have ribbon wands for the bridal party to use as we enter the reception. After each couple is introduced they will line up in the entryway with their ribbon wands and wave them wildly as we’re introduced.
(ETA: we plan on partying until the rental runs out, so we won’t be doing an official exit from the reception either!)

Tosses can be done at either place. I always thought they were at the church until I started going to my friend’s weddings, and they have all been at the exit from the reception.
