Hey all. I first want to apologize for the large pictures. This is my first post and could use some advice if you could.
My fiance and I met with our florist today and placed a deposit, but now I’m questioning my flower choices.
This is what I plan on going for my bouquet..and I’m happy with it 🙂
I’ll be making red pomander centerpieces with red carnations..
However our florist quoted me at $65 per Bridesmaids bouquet and this is a bit more than planned. My girls will be wearing black short dresses with red heels and was planning on having red flowers. So my questions is…do you think if I do Red carnation Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, will those be to similiar to the centerpieces? Or do these red carnation and red rose bouquets look odd?

I think the carnation/rose combo is really pretty too. But I’m biased as my own bouquet included carnations and roses. 🙂 I’d put the money in your bouquet if you’re on the fence. People will hardly notice what your girls carry.

I think the carnation/rose bouquet is beautiful 🙂

I agree: Those are really pretty and no one’s going to care if the bouquets match the centerpieces. Some people purposely match the centerpieces so the bridesmaids can stick their bouquets in vases at the reception to add to the centerpieces.

Our centerpieces are (fake) orchids, the bouts are orchids, the bm’s and I are carrying carnations and spider mums (with a few orchids thrown in in mine). I wasn’t about to pay the $$$$ for everyone to have orchids, and I like the bushy tissue paper look of carnations- they’re a lot of bang for your buck and come in a zillion colors.

Thanks everyone. A night to sleep on it and your comments help me feel better. I never thought flowers would agonize me this much. I had no problem deciding venue, cake, dress, bridesmaids..but these flowers are a toughie. lol
