Hi all! Been forever since I posted here.
I have a marquise tanzanite ring. I love it, but I find myself not wearing it very often lately. The tanzanite is getting pretty dull, and having it cleaned hasnt made it any shinier.
I’ve wanted a moissanite for a while, so I figure I might go ahead and get one.
I’ve narrowed it down to two that I like. One is a 1 ct round bezel setting. Rounds arent my favorite, but I love bezels. The bezel would be perfect for work. I have to wear rubber gloves a lot, and I’ve ripped several of them with the pointy prongs from my marquise.
The other is a 1.75 ct princess. I love princess cuts, but I’d most likely not be able to wear this one to work either. Also, does anyone know if the v prongs are any more secure than regular prongs, or are they about the same?

What about a bezeled cushion? That way you might be able to wear it to work but it’s have more of the square shape you want.
Of the ones you posted, I’d go for the round since you could wear it to work.

Can’t you bezel a princess? I’ve seen a Tiffany bezet princess and I LOOOOVEE it 🙂

Bezel! MCo has a few bezel designs – emerald, oval, cushion – if you’re not 100% on the round.

I agree with swirlyclover86:
Before I even read the post I was wondering why it was an either or question. Do you not like square bezels?

I had a princess cut solitaire years ago and and it had regular prongs covering the points. I had zero issues with them. I’m not a fan of the v prongs because they look somewhat harsh in my opinion and would most definitely rip a rubber glove. Like a PP mentioned, what about a bezel set princess cut? I havnt seen any of these on moissanite vendors websites but I’m sure it wouldn’t be an issue to have one made by moissaniteco or any other moissy site if they offer round bezels, they can make one to fit a square stone. In the picture you posted of the princess cut soliraire, it appears to be a diamond. Do you like the way square brilliant moissanite looks? it’s cut much different than princess cut diamonds. But overall I’d chose the round because I love round stones in bezels. But I’m sure whatever you chose will be lovely!

I’m a bit of a sucker for bezels and the style you’ve posted is a Beauty.

I love bezels 😀 I have an emerald cut bezel, so you can definitely 100% get a princess cut or cushion cut bezel and have everything you want in a ring 😀

I’m not really a fan of princess bezels, tbh. I do like cushions, but I’m not getting anything custom made, I’m just ordering something off ebay, and I havent really found any.

I’m not good at telling the difference between moissanite and diamond, but thats the exact picture from the listing, and it comes with a C&C certificate.

I really dont like square bezels. I just dont think they flow as well. I’m picky! 😛

They are both beautiful. I love bezels and princess cuts, but for the sake of practicality, round bezel.

The princess solitaire is beautiful!

I am personally not a fan of bezels, however it sounds as if that’s what you should go with. I love the solitaire princess. ..like you mentioned not sure if that would be any better than the ring you already have as far as the issues with the gloves. I have seen some lower set princess solitaires. ..maybe see if you can find something like that? I also wanted to add that I think the carat weight of the princess cut would get in the way…a smaller one would probably work better. ..just my thoughts
