I’m a newbie here and love seeing all your ring shots!
I know my man is due to propose soon, I can’t make up my mind up between a round halo with a round centre diamond or a cushion halo with a round centre diamond.
Pros / Cons / Advice.. I’ll take anything!?

We are choosing a ring at the moment too! So much fun.
I am going with a round halo for two reasons
1. I think a solitare looks beautiful but is a bit too plain for me
2. Round halos really bring on the bling which I love!
The perfect thing about choosing a round diamond is that it can be set in many ways in the future if you like to keep up with the trends. Maybe it’s just me but I do think cushions might date a bit quicker cause they are so in at the moment

I love my round stone in a cushion halo. It’s the best of both worlds for me. You get the overall shape of a cushion, which looked much better on my hand than round, but you get the size and sparkle of a round center stone.
I may get some heat for this, but I sometimes find that a round stone in a round halo looks a lot like a UFO. It depends on the setting though.

yes it really is fun!!! So excited! Thanks for your input, i love the sparkle too! Hopefully you’ll have a ring soon then? I hate waiting!
hahaha no heat from me!!! I sorta get what you mean about the UFO look.
I’ve seen both of the rings and they both look amazing.. so now I’m really stuck! Thanks ladies! X

I have a round halo but I do like some cushion halos too. For round halos, I prefer the halo to be dainty so I agree with the UFO thing when the halo diamonds are too large. With cushion halos, I like them to be rounded on the edges. I’ve seen some that have too much of a boxy appearance.
I went with a round halo because, my other engagement ring has a princess cut diamond in a cushion halo. So I wanted something different.

I prefer solitaires always. 🙂

I love my cushion halo with a round stone…In My Humble Opinion it’s a little more interesting then just another round halo (although I have seen some very lovely ones), but you still get the sparkle of a round stone. I also vote for very delicate halo though regardless of which route you go.

So the benefit of having a round diamond in a cushion halo is that you get the brilliance of the round cut diamond but still get to have the cushion shape! I absolutely LOVE my cushion halo with round diamond. I have gotten so many compliments on how amazingly shiny it is! Here is mine! I have a micro pave halo

I had the same struggle! My Fiance prefers the more traditional look so he went with the round halo. He just proposed on Aug 16! =)

I believe they are all beautiful, but I chose cushion halo for my round diamond just because it seemed more interesting (visually) and less predictable.
No matter what, just go with your heart!

we are ring twins! I think a round stone with a pave halo is perfect! It’s what I chose:

My center stone is a cushion cut, with a double halo around it. I thought the stone dictated the setting? Bought my stone first because I wanted a sapphire the color of the ocean, and not too small, because I’m almost 6 ft tall.

I chose a round halo to go with my round diamond. I just like the way it looks and the way it complements my stone!

I personally like cushion halos and have always. I think the cushion halo is a bit more modern and still has the same brilliance as a round depending on how it’s set.I also like the finger coverage of a cushion halo. Here’s mine for reference.

I have a round with a cushion halo. Like a PP said, you get the great brilliance from a round but also the cushion look with the cushion halo. I tried to have a cushion as my main diamond but it faced up much smaller than the round and wasn’t as sparkly, so that’s why I got the cushion halo so I could still have the cushion feel.
