mrsmfsh :  Hi mrsmfsh, I would advise contacting MoCo in the event they already have one available for you. If not, it is worthwhile to wait. They also sell F1 H&A so you could compare the two of them and see which one you like th best.

oluwafemio :  they are happy to do fully custom work, or you can customize a style they already have!

They were really great to work with, I love that they post videos almost daily of what’s going on on their bench, getting to see the jewlers at work ended up being an important thing for me. Knowing that they weren’t the middle men just sending my design off to Who-knows-where to have it made, that if there were any problems THEY are the ones fixing it. I dunno, just every aspect of how they do business spoke to me and felt right, if that makes sense and doesn’t sound too hippy dippy-ish lol! So I say definitely go with your gut on this one! If Fire and Brilliance calls to you, go with them! And don’t forget to post pictures when you have your beauty!! 💖

oluwafemio :  it’s been in the news that Debeers has a new line of synthetic (genuine) lab made diamonds coming this fall! $800 1 carat white,  pink or baby blue! Their new company is called:

I can’t really comment on the differences of brands of round brilliant cut moissy since that wasn’t what I was after (looking for a barely pink round OEC moissy -i recommend joe schubach for that) but will vouch for David Klass for making the setting, really nice work for the price, had our custom stoneless wedding bands made by him. Came out amazing! Good luck and keep us posted!

oluwafemio :  I do think the Harro round brilliant can look a little hazy or foggy, but I also haven’t researched them much. I personally don’t think moissanite lends itself well to crushed ice at all because of the double refractive properties. I wouldn’t recommend going that route, but again, you get what YOU love. It just depends on what speaks to you and what your expectations are.

I understand simply wanting the best cut round. I had the same thought, and really assumed the NEO was a sure thing. After lots and lots of additional research, I decided H&A was what I preferred. F1 is obviously the most well known, but I didn’t want it, and then MoCo is releasing theirs but I don’t want to give them my business, and that leaves Amora. To my knowledge, there aren’t many H&A vendors out there. Most are round brilliant. Fire & Brilliance has a Cupid line I believe. Do they have a round? Have you considered it? When I emailed asking questions they were so great and helpful. What kind of setting are you wanting?

And for the Amora, yes, they are limited in their availability but they restock often. Today as a matter of fact. I guess their cutter was down for 3 weeks so that’s really pushed things back. Google their videos vs diamonds. I found them very helpful. Make sure they’re showing the newest cut though. Super Ideal Eternity H&A. Their website has a lot on the home page to view.

If you want round brilliant, I honestly don’t know who cuts the best stone. Maybe NEO? Even then it looked so flat to me. Everyone raves over them but I was meh about it once I saw videos. Port City has their own line too. She posts a lot on IG and her customer service is outstanding! But for H&A my vote is the Amora.

I’ve seriously contacted every vendor, so if you need any info just holla! Oh, and shout out to my fellow Hoosier! I’m originally from southern Indiana, about 30 miles north of Louisville. 🙂

oluwafemio :  Unfortunately, I do not have any pics, but Chris might be able to provide you some. One thing to be aware though is that moissanites look very different IRL and on cameras…so if you are able, I’d recommend ordering the stones you like, so that you can see which one you like the best.

mrstodd2bee :  please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought they would not be selling loose stones and that rings would not be an option… Only earrings, necklaces, etc for now.

My engagement ring is set with a Moissanite, so I did a bunch of research before pulling the trigger. I was fairly set on Harro Gem but then I found Zen Moissanite, and ended up going with them. Their stones are super white, and Jennifer is such a sweetie, happily answered my billion questions, gave us a discount, had my stone cut in half the advertised time and custom cut the stone so it would be rounder than their usual OMCs.

I haven’t received my ring yet, but if you look at my threads I posted the pictures Jennifer sent me once my stone was cut, might give you an idea as to the quality.

jayrock :  They will be selling rings but definitely not loose stones. The settings are all Sterling silver and the diamonds will not be graded – it will be luck of the draw for colour, clarity and cut quality.

Debeers states that they did market research indicating that consumers view lab diamonds as costume jewellery. Maybe it’s just me but 1200 + USD is a little steep for costume jewellery.

If all you care about is getting a diamond regardless of its quality then, sure, this might be an option because it’s certainly easy to put it in a different setting.

I read that the NEO is the most diamond like due to the way it is cut and the fact that it does not have as many flashes of rainbow
