I have a 3/4 carat round center stone that I am having reset with some other smaller diamonds I had in a pair of earrings. I am trying to decide between a round or cushion shaped halo. The jeweler did a mock design/picture of a round halo.
What do you think?
I asked about a square/cushion halo and he said he doesn’t like it. I’m sure if I pushed him, he would do it, but he doesn’t seem to think it would work with the sizes of my stones. What do you think? BTW – he says the prongs won’t stand up around the center stone like they do in the picture, and the edges of the metal will be more rounded…

Perhaps get another opinion from another jeweler if you really want the cushion halo. it cant hurt to check, right? Personally, the cusion halo is what I would want. Round halos are nice, but the mock picture you have posted doesn’t really speak to me. Perhaps it’s the prongs on the shank and also the halo diamonds seem kind of large. Sorry to be so opinionated, but I wanted to give you some feedback. Good luck!

I would go with the cushion halo. Personally, I don’t really like round halos. But I could be biased as my ring is a round center diamond with a cushion halo and I love it! Besides, who cares if the jeweler doesn’t like cushion halos…is he wearing the ring? I’d be like, “I’m paying, now give me what I want” lol
(I was going to post a pic of my ring to show you, but my work computer hates this site haha)

Cushion halos are beautiful too! What a hard choice! can you find a place to try on both styles? You may Llike the way one style looks on your hand over the other.
