The only thing that stopped me from getting an oval was that the way rings fit my finger makes the slightly sideways and it looked unbalanced at times, if that makes sense. The round looked more symmetrical.

Ovals tend to be mushy – I would go for a round. You’ll get more finger coverage with an oval, but more sparkle with a round. I don’t have either, so that’s my unbiased opinion 🙂

I love ovals (and so many diamond shapes) but I went with a round since I love the sparkle and wanted something classic.

I adore rounds, but when I tried stones on my hand, the oval was the clear winner! Choose what you love and what fits your hand best! I love my oval so, so much and I’m glad I tried things on first.

mrsclaff :  I went with an oval. From looking online before ever looking in person, I definitely thought I wanted a round. Once I saw the oval on my own hand I realized I loved the look of it. I think it makes my finger look longer in a good way. Ovals also face up bigger which is more bang for your buck as far as finger coverage. For me, especially with my band it just looks so dainty and romantic to me. I don’t know if that’s just me though.

When my fiancé started asking about rings I told him I liked both rounds and ovals. I would have been happy with either one to be honest. He got me a round 6 prong solitaire and I love it so much. However, for my right hand I would love an oval opal ring.

I had an oval before the sparkle was nice, IMO rounds sparkle the most. This is why I chose a round when I upgraded.

Personally I’d go with a round, but it depends on your fingers I think! I considered oval as well but I found it hard to find ovals that. had a good ratio. A lot of the ones I tried were either really skinny looking or too wide in the middle. Here’s my round! Don’t think you can go wrong with a classic look.

I knew I wanted round Bc it matches the round stud earrings he got me for our 2 year anniversary! Plus I secretly went and tried rings on, and round looked best! I also love a wide band.

I have a round solitaire but I voted for oval. The more I see oval the more I love them. However, I only prefer them to round when they are quite big. If I was to get an oval I’d want it to be the same width as my round solitaire, and then just be longer to be shaped like an oval, if that makes sense haha!

I went with round, like many ladies on here! I briefly tried on ovals but there are a LOT of factors to consider when choosing a good oval (sparkle, ratio, bow tie, color, etc) that to be honest it was too much for me. A good round was easier for me to find and  my fingers are small so coverage is mostly a given with whatever I wear. Maybe one day I’ll have the time and patience to find that one perfect oval, but I love my round 😊
