Both are beautiful! I like that the oval shape is a little bit different.

I just love ovals so much. They were my personal preference because I just think they are so elegant and a touch more unique (no hate to round stones!!). Love my little “egg” as my fiance calls it!

Also, you can definitely find an oval with great cut, sparkle and minimal/no bow tie. My fiance found such a great stone that even the consultant said it was one of the sparkliest ovals she had ever seen! There’s lots of info online about what to look out for with oval cuts 🙂

I tried oval because I love the shape, but my fingers seemed to be too short for it, it just looked somewhat off…So I went for round instead and I love it 💗

I think they’re both beautiful and it sooo depends on what it looks like. Everyone’s hands are different and sometimes an oval looks better, and sometimes a round stone looks better. I generally prefer round on my hand over an oval stone.

I have an oval and always kind of knew that was my shape.  I will say they seem to be on trend so if that’s something that will bother you then go with the round.  Also, if you go with oval you really need to see how the stone performs in person before you commit.

I noticed there weren’t very many ovals in this thread!!! I thought I could also give you a different perspective on how it looks. I love that the oval elongates my finger! Let us know what you decide!:)

I know it’s a couple months later but I came across this post.. I was in the same boat trying to decide between a round and oval when I upgraded. I was honestly going to go with an oval at first because they tend to look bigger because of their length. The thing that turned me away was the color. I needed to get a k due to my price range and it’s very hard to find a k that is not too hello. Oval tend to not hide the color like rounds. Also, the bow tie.. some people like it but for me I don’t not. I found myself wanting a round because I like the thickness. I’m sure you can find an oval that’s thicker than it is long though.. like everyone else has said it’s your personal opinion.. just make sure you try them both on first !!

I picked the round stone because they are timeless and looked best with the thick band I chose. I like thicker bands to make my hands look smaller
