heavenlyflower :  Ask away!  I love cruising and wish someone would’ve had advice for me the first time we went!  Since your flights are now later in the day then don’t worry about the self-disembarkation (the last day on board they will give you a paper to fill out about your return home…it gives you the option of assisted disembarkation and self-disembarkation..choose assisted).  Choosing assisted means that you can leisurely hang out on the ship all morning aand they won’t kick you off the ship until 10 or 11.  I figure that is about the latest they will allow because they only have a couple of hours to get the ship ready for the next set of passengers.  You won’t be able to get away with staying on into the afternoon so I’d plan ahead for something close to the airport that you can do!  Maybe find a good lunch place or mall to hang out in since you will probably get there around 11ish and will want to be to the airport by about 4.

I’ve gone on quite a few cruises.  Royal Caribbean has the best ships, hands down.  The ROOMS are just okay.  Really depends on the ship.  I found their interior rooms to be smaller and less efficiently laid out than Carnival (but I hate Carnival…that’s the equivalent of a floating Walmart).   The smaller the ship, the bigger the rooms.  Bigger the ship, smaller rooms.  So my room wasn’t as great when I was on the Allure (Oasis) but that ship was god damn incredible.  Get an “interior balcony” on that one..you won’t regret it.  But note that there are interior balconies over the carousel area, and interior balconies over the central park.  Very different.

The food isn’t great.  Norweigian has better food.  Carnival has the best desert (that chocolate thing).  Royal is just average when it comes to the food.

Royal’s shows were the best that I’ve experienced.

In the future, it is most likely that I will book with Royal Caribbean over the others, for the ship amenities and shows.

(All the above is based on multiple cruises with RC, 1 with Carnival, 1 with Norwegian, and 1 with Princess)

Darling Husband and I went on a Royal Carribean cruise to Europe for our honeymoon in July 2013. We spent 18 days on the ship and visited and toured Rome, Florence, Cannes, Turkey, Santorini, and Barcelona. It was unforgettable. I do not have any other cruises to compare it to, but the service was fantastic and we had no issues.

heavenlyflower :  We went on the Oasis of the Seas for an 8-day cruise over Christmas and it was FANTASTIC.  The thing is massive, beautiful, and has lots to see and do.  I highly recommend it.  We loved the food, the staff, our excursions, the drinks, our room… basically everything about it!  It was a blast.  Both of us have been on many cruises with several different lines & this was by far our favorite!

heavenlyflower :  We are going on Royal’s 7 day Oasis of the Seas cruise to Labadee Haiti, San Juan Puerto Rico, and Phillipsburg St Marteen. We booked 1 year ago, since we’re traveling with our family on our vacay – moon, and we wanted to have all 4 rooms right next to each other. I’m so excited! We’re already planning (aka debating) which cruise we’ll be sailing on for 2018. I would lovery to do Disney or Princess!!

We went on Allure in October and had a BLAST!! Seriously, I can’t say anything bad about the oasis or freedom class ships. We just got off Jewel of the seas with our kids and it didn’t hold a torch to the Allure. We were never ever bored.Β

heavenlyflower :  Thank you so much – and I’m glad you were able to snag that discount! Yay, savings!! Definitely update if you sail on Norwegian next year. I haven’t tried them out yet, but I would love to hit as many different cruiselines as possible before TTC. πŸ™‚ Once babies come, all my vacation money will going to the daycare bills. Lololololol. Happy Sailing!

heavenlyflower :  so happy for you! Any excursions planned?

It seems the alcohol package may not be for you. You have to drink quite a few drinks to make it worth it. We tend to 😊 on vacation only!
