@FutureMrsClayshulte:  How fun. When are you going? This was to be our honeymoon in Feb but we cancelled because we decided we wanted to skip a honeymoon to save money.

CruiseCritic.com is very helpful 🙂 You should read reviews for the Freedom to get some ideas 🙂

I’ve never been on the Freedom but I hear the flow-rider is really fun.

And go to the dining room for breakfast. The French toast there is amazing. Lol

I went on a Carnival Cruise for my honeymoon. Was told by a lot of people on there that if you are looking for the ultimate dining experience, Royal Carribean is the way to go. I have experience with cruises now, but not with Royal. Sounds like you picked a great ship to go on. If you need any advice on what to bring and stuff let me know. Have fun!

@FutureMrsClayshulte:  Travel Nut … and Cruise Lover here.

If you look back thru my WBee Profile or here on the HONEYMOON Board… you’ll find lots of past postings I’ve done on cruising.

Every cruise line is a bit different, and also so for ships and itineraries.

The first place to start is with the Cruise Line’s Website… lots of great info to be found there… in regards to the particular ship and sailing you are on… as well they’ll have a section on general info (like payment deadlines, ticket printing, cruise ship passes, how to get your baggage tags, what to pack, dress codes etc)

Elsewhere, truly your BEST SOURCE for info is going to be Cruise Critic which is a website dedicated to cruising… a lot more info there in one-stop shopping than you’ll ever get here on WBee.

Cruise Critic – Reviews Section = http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/?src=nav

Looking at individual pages there for each ship, you’ll see things like their overall rating on CC and also their most recent CDC Score, Ship Stats… and Deck Plans

In the Reviews section you’ll find BOTH professionally written Reviews from the Press, as well from Fellow Passengers.

Freedom of the Seas (Press) = http://www.cruisecritic.com/reviews/review.cfm?ShipID=358

Over on the Boards / Forums, you’ll be able to connect with other Cruisers for info about the Cruise Line and ask Questions of those who have been onboard recently…

Cruise Critic Boards = http://boards.cruisecritic.com/

Forum for NEW Cruisers = http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=631

Forum for Royal Caribbean = http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83

As well look at joining the Roll Call Board & Posting for your particular Ship & Sailing… as it is a great way to meet others on your cruise, and get great tips, save money, share excursions etc.

Roll Call’s typically have Meet & Greets once onboard which are hosted by the Criuse Line, and often offer CC Members special opportunities (meet the Captain, visit the Bridge, etc)

Roll Call Forum for Royal Caribbean = http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35

Find your ship… then find your sailing date.

Honestly, EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you want to know about cruising can be found on CC.

Hope this helps,

I went on that cruise last year and had a FANTASTIC time. When you go to St. Thomas, take the ferry over to St. John and snorkel at Trunk Bay. Most amazing place I’ve ever been in my life!

Also, you might want to get a balcony room so you have a little space for privacy….after having all of your meals in large dining halls, you’ll enjoy getting room service and having breakfast on your own balcony looking over the ocean!

Enjoy it!
