I"m getting married June 26th…our rsvp date is May 29th…about a month before… I’d say around June 18th would be a good time.  You want to have some time before you need to give your final guest count to call anyone htat forgets to send it.

I’m going to nuerotically demand that everyone tell me ASAP with the drop dead date of about 1 month before.  I kind of wish I could make them tell me now…but we only recently sent the save the dates, so I’ll try to be patient 🙂

I’ve been told to do it 3 weeks and 2 days before the wedding date- I guess you’ll need the 2 days to freak out as to why all the RSVP’s aren’t in yet.

I keep hearing 3 weeks, but I’m going to aim for 1 month.

I agree with the other girls- give yourself plenty of time!

We’re getting married July 11, and I’m setting our RSVP date as June 15. Mailing out the invites beginning of May.

I’m also July 18th! We know on both sides of  the families we’ll be making calls, so invites are going out by May 10th-ish (before the postage hike) with an RSVP of June 20th. That gives us a solid two weeks for us to call and nag non-RSVPers about their intentions before we have to give any solid counts to our vendors. And gives us a month to do seating arrangements.

Can you believe it – we’re sending out invitations in two months!!

I’m a July 25th – we set the RSVP date for June 25th! We figure it’s mid-summer, people will likely already know what their vacation plans are, etc., so a month will be okay and make it easier for us.

We’ve actually already sent out our invitations, too! We had so many international and Out of Town guests that it just made more sense this way. To be honest, I don’t really understand why we’re supposed to wait until so close to the wedding date, anyway.

So glad I saw this board…I just realized I forgot to include an RSVP date in my invitations that I ordered yesterday and can’t make changes to!

I thought it would be brilliant to just ask people to call or email for RSVPs so I could save some money on response cards.  A friend of mine who got married in December ended up calling most of her guest list because either A) they didn’t bother to send the card in because they assumed she knew they would be there or B) the response card was lost in the mail.

So in my quest to save money, it looks like I will be losing time instead because I will be writing the date in by hand or adding another card or map into the invitation with the RSVP date printed on it.  So, thanks for the post because this memory slip could have caused me alot more heartache!

Wow. Our RSVP date is super early — May 11 — because of the postage increase and because we have a B-list.

Yes, I know it’s not good ettiquette, but our parents said we HAD to invite all our relatives, (even though half of them won’t come).
