Hmmm….I always write at least a sentence of congratulations on an RSVP card–that’s how I’ve always received them too so I wonder if this is another regional quirk I’ve only discovered to be regional on the bee 🙂

If it’s not common practice in your area, I’d just have something like “please feel free to use this space to send words of love and encouragement, nuggets of wisdom, or advice for the happy couple!”

We did this! I designed our RSVPs as a double-sided postcard and asked our guests to write us a note on the return address side. But we just kept it simple and said “write us a note”, hah.

We LOVED getting all of our RSVPs back in the mail, almost everyone wrote heartfelt and/or humorous messages to us. I still need to bind them into a mini book, it will definitely make for an awesome keepsake. =]
