So we haven’t found a caterer yet, but it’s coming up to the time that I’ve got to start making the invitations and I don’t know how far in advance of the date of the wedding I will need a final headcount.
So how many weeks before your wedding day was your RSVP deadline?
I’m thinking if the wedding is 2/19 maybe “kindly mail by January 31st” is okay? Or is that not enough time?

I’m going to ask for ours 4-6 weeks in advance, which gives me time to contact the ones we haven’t heard from.

I am requesting them by February 14th for our March 31st wedding, so 6 weeks in advance, for the same reason as smiley.

our wedding is the same as yours..we are requesting them by january 25th, because our final count and payment is due on january 31th. gives us a few days to chase down the stragglers 🙂

We asked for 4 weeks, so we’d have time to contact the stragglers. Everyone told me that was WAY too early and it should be more like 2 weeks prior. But, I didn’t care – because, I figured the people who aren’t going to send them back, just aren’t… I’d rather have more time to contact people.
I’d actually make the RSVP date January 28th, since 1/31 is a Monday. That way, you have the weekend to pass and then can start calling the week of 1/31 (even though, I like the fact that 1/31 is the end of the month)

I asked for them 4 weeks before. I need time to contact the stragglers and final headcount is due 2 weeks before.

And plus you need time to do the escort cards if you are having those!
