So we are one week away from our RSVP deadline for our January 4th wedding. We have invited almost 170 guests and are at 57 or so guests confirmed (including our family and wedding party!) What do I do? I am stressing out and sad about this though I know I should wait. We wanted to set the deadline before all of the Christmas madness sets in but maybe people are preoccupied with Thanksgiving. Thoughts???

@ValleyGirl1979: It’s a waste of energy and a major stressor to speculate. Put it aside till 2 or 3 days past the rsvp date then start phoning those who have not responded.
Lots of people leave it till the last minute.

@ValleyGirl1979: That is scarily close to the # of responses I’ve had for my 167 people invited….try not to stress, people will wait to the last minute, which is infuriating. If you haven’t heard from people by the 10th or 11th, divide and conquer with your Fiance.
FYI – my deadline is the 18th of December, and I will probably start hounding people I haven’t heard from much sooner than a week after that simply because of the holidays. So, I would totally also start calling people on the 5th and 6th if I were you!

@ValleyGirl1979: I have a feeling I’m going to be in the same boat with my wedding as RSVPs are slowly trickling in but they are all friends! Only a few family on both sides have sent their RSVPs.
Luckily I have a family reunion on my side where I will be seeing all of my family so I can bug them in person, it’s one week after the RSVP deadline.

@something_orange: Good luck, that is great you have a reunion where you can bug people in person. I got about 14 RSVPs over the holiday weekend. But I am still at about half of what I sent out. Lots of people – even friends who came to my bachelorette party – still haven’t RSVP’d! Hang in there 🙂
