I made my RSVP by date pretty earlier so I could give them a week before I tried to track people down. It’s probably 50/50. Some yes people wait because they just assume you know they’ll be there and some no people wait because they don’t want to disappoint. It’s annoying but that’s people.

I’m just in the midst of getting ready to send out my invites and have my due date for RSVP’s for Oct 28th. I’m expecting people not to RSVP, so depending on who they are, I’ll either be contacting them that weekend or the beginning of the next week. I can’t really answer the 2nd question, but I will say this, people forget. I was always intending on going to my cousin’s wedding for next weekend, but I lost the paper where to RSVP (she didn’t do mailed) and emailed her like the day before the deadline.

I sent my invites out on Aug. 26/27 with an RSVP date of Oct. 1st for my Oct. 29th wedding. I need to have a general count in by the 19th and a final 3 days before. I figure that it gives me a week for all of the straglers and then a week to track done non-responses. I’m at 50% of my 137 invites so far.

Give them a full week post deadline and then start calling.
