UGH the invitations for some reason have been a little stressful for me 🙁 I designed my invitation, so I am trying to make sense of the RSVP card:
We are giving people a “+1” and I am going to list all names on the invites when I send them out. I want to do “Names _____” instead of “M______”
I am just torn on the menu choices now: we are offering a chicken dish or a fish dish. I was going to put ____chicken ____fish
so my thought is: what if one couple RSVPs and one wants fish and the other chicken-how am I going to know who is eating which? Are their any ways to make this clear?
Is this something I even need to be worried about? LOL

Typically, on the back of placecards (if there is room depending on what you are using), brides will place a sticker or some notation regarding the particular entree choice. (So for example, a little fish sticker.)
Other than doing that if you can, please don’t worry about who in each couple is having what entree! The servers will go around and double check with everyone prior to dinner. A lot of times, people don’t even remember what they chose, so you can’t plan everything : )

We did name_______________ dinner choice____________ on the RSVP. Then stamped a daisy in either blue or green (wedding colors) on each persons place card.

When we did our place/escort cards, we did one card per couple, so both entree choices were on the same escort card… presumably the couple would be sitting beside each other, so the serving staff would bring out the roast beef and the chicken cordon bleu and if they happened to set it in front of the wrong person, they could easily switch.
For the 2 or 3 families we invited with their older children, I just sent a quick e-mail or text to ask which child had which meal since they had their own escort cards.
ETA- we also used color coded stickers to designate meal choices.

@HeLovesDogs: Haha, I may or may not have had the same freak-out as my RSVPs started rolling in and I realized I didn’t know who wanted which meal! This was one of my MIL’s many, many, MANY suggestions… I just happened to really like this particular suggestion 🙂
