Just needed a little vent. Our RSVP by date was the 9th, of the 150 people that were invited only 25 rsvp’d. Our RSVP cards were self addressed pre-stamped post cards. all they had to do was write their own names or a number attending. We sent save the dates in November, so no one can say they had no warning to decide. So today was ‘extremely rude head count investigation day’. I tried being cordial, I took every step to make their job easier…part of me wants to just rent 25 chairs and set the filled out RSVP cards on them and have a sign that informs everyone else to sit their a** on the grass!!

@murmur: hahaha I like your idea of only having 25 chairs 🙂
We’re doing an online RSVP because I was hoping we’d have a higher response rate, but that might just be me being optimistic lol

I agree. We’re having a destination wedding so I DEFINITELY need numbers to decide if I even have enough to do a garter/bouquet toss –> which in turn decides if I should do a small sit down dinner or need to pay for a private reception. I need to know numbers to reserve seats and to get a final count of items that need to be printed as well as the guestlist in my Out of Town bags.
UGH. I even have some people asking if they could get back to be about it in MAY, the wedding is in JUNE.
I am so frustrated.
This isn’t a dinner on a Saturday night, this is a WEDDING.

@murmur: lol bold move. I approve.

LOL Hilarious, I can just picture people’s faces when they see no chairs or dinner have been prepared for them. This sounds awful, you have every right to be frustrated!!

@les105: I’m telling you…I’m already beyond being courteous anymore! Maybe I should get wrist bands for people who RSVP’d and only they may drink either cuz I only bought enough booze for 25 people!!
@mrsbruff2b: yeah I felt like giving people until a month before the wedding was actually really generous time wise! How is it this hard?!
@asscherlover: Thank you!

ugh that is sooo frustrating!
I can’t find the post, but there was one bee that included on her invites to bring a chair and a sandwich if you didnt resond by the RSVP date. I thought that was hilarious!

this is going to happen to me and i’m going to freak out…i RSVP the moment i get the invitation, why can’t everyone else do it??

I also did RSVP postcards. I asked for them to be returned by March 15 since we are getting married April 15. I am still missing about 40 people and they have had over 2 months to send them back. I don’t understand people. I am going to have so start making calls in a few days and I am not looking forward to it…

@murmur: ugh – annoying! Sure hope you get responses SOON and don’t have to do any more follow-up with guests!

@murmur: I feel your pain. We are date twins and my RSVP by day is in two days and I sent out and have received just about the same as you. WTFrick?

people are so completely inconsiderate. I get that they have busy lives…which is why I made it as easily as humanly possible for them! I can’t read mind or I wouldn’t even bother with the stupid rsvps =x

hahaha do the chair thing!
that would be super frustration and i would lose. my. mind!
reminds me of the four weddings episode where an announcement was made saying if you didnt RSVP then you have to sit outside during the reception/to eat – cringing rude but loved it

that’s just wrong. I’m praying I don’t have this issue. I’ve had some respond right away that they can or can’t come. And I agree I stamped the envelope as well.
It’s such a pain but wish there was a easier way to remind people!
On another note! Congrats…your wedding is on the same day as my 35th b-day!! That’s a GREAT day!!! 🙂
