if you are not going to do the mail in rsvps you do  not necessarily need a seperate rsvp card. our invitations say “For directions and RSVP information please refere to our website………” I think that is completely acceptable these days, but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong

It depends on your crowd. If most of your people are younger and tech-savy, go for it!  For older people, or those who are technology deficient I would include a card though, even if you don’t for everyone else.

As I always say:  it’s *your* wedding…do what you feel is best.  If it helps you cut costs, then by all means…do it!  Think about it this way:  would you be offended if someone sent you a similar invitation?  Personally, I’d be happy the RSVP is via the web, because that’s one less thing I have to remember to put in the mail.

We went with seal & send invitations that had a detachable RSVP card.  We put stamps on them and they were pre-printed with our address on them.  They were cheaper than separate RSVP cards w/envelopes.  I had suggested just doing an RSVP web site, but my Fiance insisted on the snail mail ๐Ÿ™‚

If it’s an electronic RSVP, I don’t see why it WOULD be on a separate piece!  Website RSVPs are very green, so keep with that theme and print it on there!
