Hey! I used the RSVP function on our wedding website. So far i’ve gotten 14 rsvp’s (we just sent out invites), and no one has had issues.

As you said, my group of friends/family are all computer savvy, PLUS we ARE in 2012!!. I think traditional RSVP’s in the mail are a waste of postage. Go with the electronic RSVP, it is great because it also updates your guestlist automatically. We also put a phone number to RSVP (as back up).

We did! Not only did it save us money, but it was a little more environmentally friendly πŸ™‚  We also did an emailed Save the Date as well.  FI works in the photoshop/computer graphics industry, too, so it was also nice to showcase his talent.

A couple of people have already used it and some guests just told me flat out that they couldn’t make it to our destination wedding so I just marked it for them. We had one person (ahem, of an older generation) complain about it but “you can’t please everyone.”

We did the online rsvp through wedding wire. It was super easy and gave me an excuse to check my email like a nut. For those guests who cuoldn’t do the online thing they just called. It made it so much easier to keep track of everybody.

I would offer both options–I’ve definitely had to RSVP to weddings where I wished online was an option. I once was invited to a wedding where a phone number was the ONLY option. Needless to say, I emailed the groom instead. πŸ™‚

@pandaboo:

I would like to learn how to email save the dates! That sounds like a great option. If you do not mind me asking, how did you go about doing this? Did you create a save the date in Word, etc.

Thank you!

@hunnybee123:

This is a silly question too, but where do you have your wedding website? I have heard there are some available through The Knot, but woud like to know if you have any other recommendations for me..

We had online-only RSVPs.  Only one of the 100+ people we invited had trouble with the RSVP system.

My guests refuse to acknowledge the web site lol. They think it’s for cute pictures and nothing more! Even though I have our info on it too! Bah.

I put return addresses on each RSVP and a stamp. The response to that has been much better….people loved that everything was ready to go and they didn’t even have to writetheir names! Haha
