My RSVP deadline is July 15 so I understand people still have time but I haven’t heard ffrom half our guests. do most people eexperience this and end up contacting their guests after the RSVP deadline to find out?

I think I’ll end up having to hunt down a lot of people. My deadline isn’t until August 1st but we have a ton of RSVPS still outstanding and not too many have come in over the past week or so. I think some people forget and some people just assume you know they’re coming. Pretty annoying.

I just went thru this – we ended up having to call about 25-30 guests to see if they were coming or not. It was mostly people that weren’t coming that didn’t bother to put their decline in the mail… oh and also the best man and maid of honor, lol, really?? They also did not rsvp to the rehearsal dinner – super helpful.
We did get a bunch in the few days before the rsvp deadline though. I don’t understand why people wait until the last minute…

We had to call 20 guests after the deadline, people are just rude. You will def have to chase people down, its so annoying.

I will have to call approx. 20 guests to see if they are coming or not. Our deadline is July 15th and I haven’t received any this week! 🙁

Our RSVP deadline is in a week and we’re still waiting on about 90 guests.

Yep! Same deadline for us and we have about 30 people that are still question marks. It’s maddening. I figured we would get a big batch of them the last few days, but we got ZERO today. Ahhh!

@kellykellygg: Our deadline is the 31st and we have only had about 25 replies so far. I think they will all come flying in during that last week or a few days after.
I truly hope so because getting phone numbers from Future Mother-In-Law or Fiance will be like pulling teeth. They are both “I’ll do it later” folks.

Our deadline is July 16th and we are dealing with this right now also! Frustrating when we sent ppl a stamped, self addressed envelope! I get that some people (who we are in closer contact with) needed the extra time to know for sure, but some people we have sent invitations to have not even acknowledged receiving our invite in any shape of form. I realize I’m over-reacting a bit, but I’m hurt that some people we took the time to invite can’t even put a simple reply card in the mailbox (or respond to text or Facebook messages).
Last week, we only had about 50% replied. Now that we have been reminding people / relatives that the rsvp date is Tuesday, we have gotten probably up to a total of 75% back.

@Firemansgirl: yes! our deadline is july 24 but Fiance and i tried to keep in touch with our guests to gauge their interest in attending. it also put light pressure on them to just send in the RSVP if they are sitting on it for no reason
we have 12 more people who need to RSVP.

Our deadline is Friday and we’re still missing 20 responses. FI’s brother is STILL on that list.

Our deadline is Wednesday and we’re still missing 50 or so… ugh. I’m going to send out a nice email reminder on Friday.

Our deadline is Friday, and our hotel’s deadline is Thursday. We are still missing around 40 people out of 219. We have already started hunting down people, I don’t know if that is rude… I need to know asap for a few things. It’s just so annoying! My other pet peeve is that my RSVP’s are really cute and I also plan on putting them into a scrap book or something and I’m still missing wedding party and family members! I keep telling them I want them…

“The 24th is the deadline, right?”
Why do people say this? Are you insinuating that you’re waiting until the very last day to RSVP? Why? It’s the 22nd. What will change between now and Wednesday?

“@Orchd12: We have already started hunting down people, I don’t know if that is rude…”
Apparently it is BUT honestly so many things have happened that I didn’t expect. For instance, FI’s cousin said “ok, after I’m done with my summer class I’m going to mail off the RSVP.” Two weeks passed, nothing. A month passed, nothing. Fiance pinged her. “OH! I haven’t been home in 2 weeks. We’re on vacation.” I’ll do it when I get back.
See? Now what if one of these “I’ll just wait until the deadline” people leave town for 2 weeks? Then what? So if you’re within DAYS of the deadline, I say go for it… as long as you know the person well enough to pretty much say “dude. c’mon.”
