I set our deadline for people to send their RSVPs as the 1st of April thinking it would give me plenty of time to call everyone who hadn’t sent anything back.. but I just sat down and counted how many we are missing.. 45!! That seems like A LOT of RSVPs to be expecting in the last week! We did get 4 in the mail today so hopefully that’s a good sign? The last thing I want to worry about is having a long list of people to call! Did everyone get a whole bunch of RSVPs back close to their date?

I think many people send back the RSVP ON the RSVP date, thinking of it as a postmark date! I’m sure you get a ton in the next week and the first week of April. Don’t be too stressed!

@MissB15: Sorry to hear that – I hope they come in soon so, you have one thing less to worry about.
I have a feeling I’ll have to call on mine tool. My RSVP deadline is April 5th and we are awaiting about 50 RSVPs. I’m hoping they will come flooding in the last week. 🙂

My question is “Why is it so difficult to write your name, check a box, and drop it in the mail???” The dang thing is already self addressed and stamped! If you have time to check facebook you have time to send your RSVP! Maybe it’s me, but people who hold off til the last minute to RSVP give the impression they are waiting to see if something better comes along, like they can take it or leave it. It bugs.

@RiverBride13: +1. We are 3 weeks past our RSVP date and we are STILL missing 30 RSVPs! It’s rediculous!!! I’ve had to say “ef” it to the nice little place cards and escort cards and seating charts because I don’t know who is and who isn’t coming because my guests thinks you DONT RSVP, you just show up… who the hell does that? (obviously my unclassy guest list )

@MissB15: I feel your pain..our RSVP date is March 31st and we still havent received half of them back yet. I left it to fiances parents to deal with as most of the guests who didnt rsvp are his family!

Future Mother-In-Law had me contact my guest who have not sent back their RSVPs yet which is my brother. Instead of answering me, he replied, “Oh yeah, I forgot to send that.” Not a yes, I will be there or a no, I won’t. That was two weeks ago and still no RSVP. I don’t speak to him so I don’t know if he’s coming or not. If I don’t get it by the deadline, then too bad, he had declined in my eyes. Harsh but necessary.

We sent out 100 invitations back in the beginning of Feb. Our cut off date is April 1. I counted last night & we are only missing 11 RSVPs.. I am pretty impressed by that. So I’m hoping these last few people will get them in to me in this week. I don’t get why it takes some people so long.. I guess some people are just clueless when it comes to RSVP etiquette.
