I’m getting the invites put together to be sent out… but the wedding isn’t until June 15th.
However, I wanted to send them out now because the printed RSVP date is April 14th…rethinking, that seems so dang early!!
Opinions? Should I just print stickers to edit the date :/ Or is 2 months okay??

I think it is way too early. Mine was 3 weeks out and i changed it to 4.
However, we just got an invite for a June 22nd wedding today and have already RSVPed. So it will probably be fine.

I sent my RSVP’s last week. RSVP date is in April, and my wedding is June 15th, so… no. It isn’t too early.

We want RSVP’s 2 months in advance so that we have time to chase any people who don’t RSVP on time, and get final numbers to our venue for food etc.

Thanks ladies… It’s obviously okay if they RSVP late. I suppose it’s also a busy weekend with graduation parties, summer vacations, and father’s day, so it gives time for people to plan out their schedule.
To be totally honest, my Fiance and I are rooting for people to be busy… our parentals went far outside of the #s that we desired.

Guests should be expected to reply 6-8 weeks before the event. Doing so any earlier isn’t the most polite, or likely to yeild you accurate results.

Our RSVP date is 3 weeks prior to the wedding (5/26). We’re hoping to get invitations in the mail mid-March…
I read your post and thought, “Wow. That’s early!” On the other hand, if I knew I’d be attending your wedding, it wouldn’t matter much to me either way as a guest when you sent me the invite. Did you send out STDs?

You may want to send them out now, people have vacations during the summer or are trying to figure out their time off. This gives them plenty of time to figure things out, and gives you time to hunt people down for the RSVPs

It depends on a lot. Is it local? Will you have a lot of out of town guests? If you are having a destination wedding or a lot of out of town guests then it’s not too early. You will want to do a couple rounds of invites im sure.. so you should be good.

@ashleyr0512: lots of mixed results! 1/2 will be out-of-town.
I think depending on the RSVP count, we will do a B list with friends we were unable to put on the A list.
