Our catering offers children’s plates for those 12 & under for 9.99. The adult plates we chose are $33 a plate. I’m having trouble figuring out how to word the RSVP so that parents can choose if their child would want a kid’s plate or to eat from the adult meal. Is that something that goes on the RSVP or elsewhere in the invitation?

We put it on the RSVP. We had a line for each attendee’s name, followed by the entree options for them to circle one. A handful of guests circled a grownup entree for their child instead of the children’s meal, and we just printed up their place card with the appropriate meal choice indicated.

I gave my guests four options: chicken, fish, children’s, or vegetarian. I’m hoping parents get the hint (we have 40+ kids). If they select an adult meal for a child I’ll follow up.

Those are good ideas! With the adult’s plates there won’t be a need to have them choose between a entree since it is a buffet style meal. That also added to my trouble when wording the rsvp.

NUMBER OF CHILDREN PLATEs: ____
