Help! I’m so overwhelmed trying to figure out our RVSP wording.
I feel like I have too much stuff on it! We have a few issues…
1) For the reply-by date, I’m doing a rolling guestlist (A, B and C list) so I don’t want to include a date printed on the card because I don’t want B and C-listers to know that they weren’t A list. (I have to use this system because we have a minimum so we have to fill a certain number of seats). Is it ok to leave a blank line where I can hand write the reply date? Any other suggestions?
2) We can offer two choices plus a vegetarian choice and a kid’s meal. My concern is children’s meals. We get charged half as much for a child’s meal, so that’s a big difference. Is it normal to have a child’s meal as an option on the RSVP? How do I firmly state that children’s meals are mandatory? To be honest, I don’t want to spend twice as much money to offer kids a fancier dish that they probably won’t enjoy as much as a child’s meal. I’m sure some wise-ass will chose filet mingnon for their 6 year old… I just feel like if I omit the child’s meal, parents will check off adult options for their kid… How did everyone go about this???
3) Also, what about food allergies? Should I include a line asking about any special food allergies, or is it up to the person to call me and let me know?
4) We would like to encourage online RSVP’s through our wedding website.
This is the wording that we have so far, but I kind of feel like it looks crowded. Help!
