Hey Ladies! I just wanted to share that I have had great luck using a ready-to-wear designer to make my wedding dress and 3 bridesmaids dresses. I know a lot of folks find it time consuming and terrifying to get your dress made, but if you are like me you are over the dresses in salons all looking exactly the same or accidently falling in love with a dress your cousin wore (yes, it happened and I was two seconds from buying it until my sister said something). Anyway, after searching for like a month (I started looking really late, like 3 months before the date, so I was in a rush) my friend suggested a designer that makes regular ready-to-wear clothing, but also does dresses by request. Her company is called NOEMMI (www.noemmi.com). She actually was happy to do my dresses 3 months ahead of the date, did concierge fittings, and shiped the bridesmaid dresses to my girls.
My date is in a week and let me tell you… the only element of the wedding I feel completely calm about is MY DRESS. We only did 3 fittings, she’s adding beading all along the neckline (with a week to spare), finished the bridesmaid dresses and shipped them, didnt overcharge me for the fun of it, and it has been no hassle (I probably hassled her more than anything). She’s fantastic!
So, yeah, don’t be afraid to look outside of typical bridal designers, dressmakers, and bridal salons to find your perfect dress. Will be sharing the photos after the wedding! So excited!
