Well I’m going to Olive Garden in about an hour and they’ve got some great food. I’m thinking about having them cater my wedding 😉

Can do and will do!

Cocktail hour:

prosciutto-gruyere pastry pinwheels

goat cheese & fig crostini

fruit & cheese

Main meal:

chicken marsala

veggie lasagna

pesto linguini

marinated melon salad (I don’t really get this, but the caterer assured me it goes over well)

some kind of normal green salad

breads & rolls

Cakes:

groom’s moose tracks cheesecake

wedding cake, three tiers, not totally sure yet–something awesome involving key lime, something chocolately… like that.

The caterer is providing water, tea (we’re in the south, but not the deep south, so that means sweet & unsweet iced tea), coffee, and lemonade. We can bring in our own alcohol, so a friend is making great homebrewed beer of a couple of styles and we’ll have wine, maybe a wine sangria drink. And there you have it!

@Mrs. Meowerson: We had a late reception since our ceremony didn’t start until 7:30pm, but we had:

-Chicken satay skewers with chilli peanut sauce

-Tomato, basil, and mozzarella skewers

-Italian meatballs

-Roasted veggie tray

-Veggie tray

-Italian cheese tray

Plus we had a big smoked meat tray – I think it had turkey, ham, and roast beef maybe?  Plus there was cheeses and assorted breads and rolls.  Our caterer makes homeade BBQ sauce, and it was the hit of the party.

We didn’t do cake, we had assorted cupcakes.  I had three 😉

Then we had a spinach salad with dried cranberries, candied almonds, goat cheese & raspberry vinaigrette

Then a penne ala vodka

Then was the entrees choice of 4:

roasted chicken pan fried yukon gold potatoes, roasted butternut squash, mustard pancetta jus

grilled filet with chive whipped potatoes, haricot verts, red wine demi-glace

oven roasted halibut with sweet risoto and fig jam (I want to have this right now)

Then we had the candy buffet. Our cake was almond with raspberry ricotta filling, a layer that was chocolate with dark choc cherry mouse, and a layer of almond cake with hazelnut filling.

We also had a grooms cake that was spiced apple cake with walnut icing. That was stinking amazing.

We also served containers of school lunch milk and cookies at 11pm. We also had chocolate covered strawberries in there somewhere.
