The venue prefers credit cards… but do they REQUIRE them? If not, I’d ask them if they’ll accept the check, just to get him to stop creating unneeded drama.

Oh wow haha I’m sorry I just laughed too! Sounds like he jumped the gun and didn’t read the entire email! ugh

Just pick up the phone and call him next time rather than send an email.

That’s hilarious seeing as you basically had to pull his arm to keep his word….!!

@reebee:  It is so much more complicated than that.

OP, can you link your previous posts so these fine ladies can get some historical reference?

I would just refuse the money completely. He sounds like a handful and you have months to go.

I agree with armychica06, you don’t need that kind of aggravation, hun. Not when wedding planning is stressful enough as is!

@BetterSherm:  Ya think?  I don’t envy you.

What I am confused about though is the ‘refuse my money’ part since he clearly wants it back anyway. It’s not like it’s an actual gift that he should be insulted about.  Or am I totally misunderstanding?

@BetterSherm:  Did he make the check out to you, or the venue?  If it’s to you, I don’t see why you wouldn’t just cash the check and use it to pay your credit card bill…
