I think your ring is gorgeous! Blue is my favorite color 🙂

Some girl made at comment to her friend right in front of me that she would NEVER want a ring like mine, because it looks like a class ring. Lol! Oh well, can’t expect everyone to have manners I guess.

Hahahaha I feel like when strangers say it it’s not as bad as when your Maid/Matron of Honor says something. I’m 21 and fiance is 22 and he has a good job but he works very hard and he saved for quite some time to be able to get me my dream ring. He paid it all in cash and didn’t take out any loans etc so my Maid/Matron of Honor sees me and immediately grabs my hand and says IS THAT EVEN REAL? But not out of curiosity more like being snotty about it. And I just turned blush red and said I don’t know what u mean, (I personally believe sapphires, moissanites are stones in themselves and don’t consider them to be a “fake” diamond.) but told her it’s a diamond. Then she asks how big it is which I told her its 2 carats, then she tells me how her ex had bought her a diamond ring too that was 2 carats (although he never proposed they never even met, he’s from Southeast Asia) I was super suprised at her response because before I told her I was engaged she never acted like this! (She said more things lol) It almost felt like she was trying to one up me. But oh well I guess you can’t please everybody.

Oh! I remebered a friend from work was showing off her ring and this guy said something like “well if you’re gonna get divorced anyway might as well get zirconia instead of a diamond and save some money”. It was so rude and we were all in shock and of course took her side. What is it with people associating engagement rings with divorce? Gosh, if you’re unhappy, just say “congrats” and sashay away, social skills are not that complex!

hairstylist101 :   I went through a similar situation that I commented earlier in the thread. I was so confused ! Mind you it was a diamond, but I never understood what a “fake engagement ring” is. Like it has to be a real diamond in order for it to be real engagement ring lol people are just silly

freckledfrida :  Your ring is beautiful wit woo

I use to have a .62ot champagne pink solitaire, which I sold last year as we needed a bed. Anyway  I took it to a jeweler and he said that’s shit, not something I would buy.

I have a large gemstone garnet cluster ring, that I sometimes wear as an engagement ring. I was in a jewelers looking at bracelets. Another woman looking at big stone rings on a pad. Then I over hear her say to the sales assistant, ” you should show her this pad she clearly likes big gaudyt rings”

I also use to have a peridot trilogy that a work college said ” eww looks like someone has sneezed on you r hand”. Sold it use to brittle claws that would have cost to much to fix

I’ve gotten the comment about my ring being less than stellar because it won’t be worth much when I get divorced, too! From my grandma actually! My ring is really unique in my opinion (wood with a mother of pearl inlay and a small diamond) and I recognize that so I do not expect it to be everyone’s cup of tea. But as long as I love it, what does it matter? When he proposed I certainly was not thinking how much the ring would get me if we divorced. That is such a negative attitude to bring into a marriage!

freckledfrida :  Oh and by the way, your ring is gorgeous! I love aquamarine especially when they have a halo around them- absolutely beautiful. I actually thought about an aquamarine engagement ring myself but left the decision up to my fiance!

I had the same girl ask to see my ring twice, and twice she said NOTHING.  it was so weird.  she is not one of my favorite people anyhow, as she tends to say rude stuff.  maybe it was better she kept her mouth shut!

freckledfrida :  That’s unusual? What is unsual about it? It is super pretty! I love aquamarines and the halo looks perfect. Just ignore them…out of curiosity, is she engaged or married?
