I’ve only gotten two comments saying that my ring was beautiful. No one really knows that we are engaged so they haven’t picked up on my ering as its very non-traditional. I’ll be seeing my cousins and home friends for my Destination Wedding next year and am sure that I will get an ear-lashing for it not being above $20k and not being a diamond.
My 2 friends who know about our engagement haven’t said anything about my ring either; i think they don’t like it but this is ok with me because the three of us have always disliked each others jewellery (at least we are honest with each other).
Also, my ering is yellow gold and i think most people around me don’t like yellow gold. I love my ering though and so does my partner. My brother loves my ering too and he NEVER likes anything i like so that was a massive compliment!

Oh the things I would have loved to say to that woman if I hadn’t been at work! Lol

Can i see your ring? I want to see the cats 🙂 My brother’s gf is a vet surgeon who specialises in cats so it could be a great engagement ring idea/concept for him/her

I agree. Stupid social norm of society. Gemstone erings are becoming a lot more popular these days anyways! Well once again it is gorgeous! Don’t let anyone get you down 🙂

I haven’t received any rude comments about my ring. I’ve received stares and once in line I heard someone whisper “omg look at her ring” but it was in a nice tone.
However, if someone did say something rude I honestly would probably say something equally rude back. I’m queen petty 😃.

I Got told that mine looks bigger in photos, i found that a bit offensive, i also got told that my bands too thin.. hah i only got my ring a few weeks ago so im sure theres prob going to be more comments, its a 1.80ct in a halo

2 people both said that my e-ring is “cute” after asking to see it. I don’t get how it can be described as cute lol, it’s a round 1.7 carat diamond on a platinum pave band with additional .80 carats on the band. 🤔

Some of these stories are so outrageous! Mine isn’t so bad. I have a pear cut engagement ring and I’ve had a number of (most older) women tell me I’m wearing it the “wrong” way, because I wear it pointing toward me. I get that that’s not the traditional way to wear a pear cut and the other way elongates your finger, or whatever, but honestly, I have long fingers, so that’s not an issue, and I have yet to find a pear cut rule book. I just tell them, “I know, but I like wearing it this way. I like having it point toward my heart.”

A former coworker opted out of getting an engagement ring and decided she’d rather have an engagement necklace! It was beautiful, and she was no less engaged.

“Oh, your ring is rose gold? Isn’t that a trend and will go out of style?”
Yep, heard it a few times. Don’t even care. I love my ring and rose gold/gold jewelry looks good on my skintone. I hardly ever wear silver/platinum so, the color works for me. And besides, I like having a unique ring. 🙂

One of my colleagues loudly said in the middle of the office “MrsGo must give great head for him to have got her a ring like that ha ha ha”…. Yeah… classy right?! I have a 2.6ct OMC diamond solitaire which I get is a big stone but still doesn’t warrant insinuating that performing sexual acts would be the only way one would get a ring like mine.

haha! People say ‘hey Jude!’ to me all the time and my ex-colleague use to sing it to me almost daily. Your ring is gorgeous! So original. I think it’s definately a ring my brother and his girlfriend would love. I’ve forwarded my brother the picture of your ring. Thanks!
