So, my mom has a friend on facebook that posted on our Life Event saying “sorry to hear this. You could have done better.”.
Now, this guy is in his 70’s. His humor is different then ours…but a few of our friends were really taken back by that.

My Fiance and I dated for six years before we got engaged, and I’ve dealt with pretty much every, ‘oh, no ring yet?’ comment you could imagine.
The one I remember most clearly, I think, is running into one of our friends (well, only in the Facebook sense of the word) from undergrad about two years ago, and being told that everyone was wondering when he was finally going to leave me, because if he hadn’t proposed by then (a little over four years of dating), he obviously didn’t see me as someone worth spending his life with.
Funny thing is, he actually had brought up getting married a few weeks earlier. I was the one who nixed the idea. I had just started med school and he just started his job, and I just wanted to get settled in life outside of undergrad first.
I’m going to relish announcing the wedding to that girl, though. Of course, all the ‘finally!!’ comments from everyone else might suck the enjoyment out of even that.

My aunt told me my cousin (who is an ass) told her he didn’t understand why my Fiance (boyfriend at the time) hadn’t proposed yet because he’s getting the milk for free. First of all, get out of my business. Second of all, we were together only like a year at the time, and third, we weren’t even living together!! My Fiance proposed when we had been together for almost 2 1/2 years and I’m only 24. Some people forget there are some women out there who don’t want to marry a man two seconds after meeting them…

My former Mother-In-Law when my ex announced to her that we were getting married: “Is she pregnant?” Followed by her falling to the floor, kicking her legs and screaming that she was going to kill herself. I am not the same ethnicity as my ex and she never accepted that.
The manager at our first apartment after I told him we were engaged: “now you won’t have to become a spinster.”
I am now 42 and my boyfriend is almost 44. No one says anything. Lol.

That guys standup in general is really excellent. He’s got a couple of specials on Netflix which is where I saw this origionally.

I have a whole slew of comments from previous relationships that I won’t get in to.
H and I were engaged quickly and I was asked numerous times if I was pregnant. Nope, we’re 32/43 and know what we want. And we’re dealing with interfility, so thanks for bringing that up.

I can’t say this is extremely rude… but more just annoying.
My brother and his wife got married about two years ago. My brother also happens to be younger than me.
His whole wedding people were saying to me, “how does it feel knowing your younger brother is getting married before you?” and variations of it.

nelliemade : Ha! My husband was with his ex girlfriend for seven years, and we started dating a few months after he ended it. It was difficult… EVERYONE compared me to her. I got a lot of comments about how I would be stuck waiting forever, and “His ex was sooooo sweet and great and a wonderful cook” and blah blah blah. I was really insecure about her for awhile, but then he proposed six months after we got engaged and we were married five months later. 🙂 That sure shut everyone up! Thankfully the comments dropped off, but the week we got engaged, multiple people asked me if I felt bad for her since he kept her waiting for seven years, and married me within a year of our first date. I was like, HELL NO. She had her chance! 😉
