I’m still waiting on my satin sashes to arrive in the mail so I used some extra material to get a general idea of how it is shaping up. The material is to short – the sashes will hang down to the ground behind the ruffles. The colors are lavender and gray – it’s hard to tell in my cell phone pic.
What do you think? Imagine it on a gold chiavari chair instead of my daughter’s banged up zebra desk chair LOL! Do I need more color variation/contrast? Should my ruffles be wider?

I love it…I never thought of using ruffled chair sashes. I think it looks great!!!

Oooohhh…super pretty! I like them just like that! How did you make the ruffles?

Pretty! Very different from what I’m used to seeing. I love it!

I think it looks really nice. Depending on your colors depends on if you need more variation or not.

@LauraLT: Definitely more contrast or a more opague fabric. Is this what you’re going for?

I think it looks really nice just like that!

I usually don’t really like chair sashes… these are gorgeous though!!

Thanks everybody! My colors are lavender, gray and ivory.
@ShortnSweet: You pegged it – that was my inspiration. 🙂 I figure I’ll use the sashes I’ve already ordered though instead of making the chiffon wraps like in the picture (all that chiffon would be to $$ for my budget!). I think your right – I’m gonna try another mock up with some more opaque fabrics and slightly wider ruffles.
Honu_36 : They are circle ruffles – just cut out a circle of material and then cut around the circle in a spiral shape.

I LOVE IT, this is exactly what I have been looking for!! How did you make them, did you follow a tutorial??

Oh wow! Those are super-pretty! If I was doing chair sashes, I would totally copy those. Great job!
To address your concerns, yes, the colors seem to blend a bit too much. Maybe mix in a few slightly darker shades of ribbon? And definitely vary the width of the ribbon; I think that would accentuate the texture as well.
