Just signed up for a 5k Saturday to benefit a charity. Yay, running plus we’ll be in the city so i can go get my eternity ring fixed -2 freaking diamonds have fallen out – boo. We’re encouraged to wear a costume during this race so I was going to be a runaway bride because I almost was one -kind of. Ok, I knew I wouldn’t but many people thought I may, specifically Hubby. Anyway, I though it was cute since its a running race and I got married this year. I’m going to cut up my veil and drape it so it makes a tulle “dress” and wear a small veil and tiara. Can you think of anything in the same theme that my husband could be? I know you lovely bees are so creative! Thanks for your help!

@MrsHart2Bee: Wow, you’re good! That’s a really great idea, thank you. I am trying not to buy anything for our costumes because I want to spend money in the city while we’re there at Lululemon, ok, I really have a lulu addiction problem. Any ideas how to be a groom with what we have in our closet? I wish we had a blue, ruffle tux from the 70’s aka Father of the Bride style but we don’t.

You could do a tuxedo t-shirt. he would be comfy enough to run or put him in an old suit that you dont want anymore

Last year Darling Husband wore a tuxedo T shirt and a ball and chain as a costume. He had zombie face paint too. I purchased the tuxedo t shirt on ebay for like $5.

@PinkMagnolia: Ball and chain- that’s too funny! OMG, he is so running with a ball and chain! No, don’t have $5k to spend on a costume but you have a good point about how the title could be read as that. I used to think I was such a good communicator – both verbal and written but I am really struggling lately to communicate my ideas succinctly in power point presentations, etc. darn.

@Foreverblonde345: You could go to a thrift store and a get a cheap outfit, probably for $15 or so.
Hmmmm otherwise button up shirt, black slacks with a black bowtie?
