From May-August I started my runs between 6:30am and 7:15am. Typically, the only thing i ate was a rice+soy protein bar. I never had issues with my stomach.
Since I’ve been teaching (I start at 7:15) I’ve been running after school approximately 2 1/2 hours after I’ve eaten lunch. I can barely make 3 miles without a painful twang just below my rib cage on either side. I only have this problem if I have eaten within a short period before running. Any ideas for relief? I desperately have to get back on my training schedule for my 10mi race in November.
Now, maybe this is Too Much Information, but my biggest hunch is that it is gas caused by a high fiber diet. (I typically have Greek yogurt, 2 types of fruit, and some sort of veggie between 9:00am and 12:30am.) I don’t want to change to a carb focused diet, though I think it helps..
