I think it would be just fine. I know Cajun food has been eatin throughout quite some time so it would blend well with any era feel!

I’m from Louisiana so I would LOVE your food at the wedding.  Make sure to have some more say “tame” options for those guests that don’t appreciate amazing Cajun food.

I’m having jambalaya as one of the entrees served at my wedding reception and I’m very excited about it.

Depends what you call “cajun” food.  I’m from Louisiana and I’m having boudin for sure at our wedding.  We’re doing finger foods so can’t really do awhole lot with cajun with that.

Food doesnt necessariy have to match the theme unless its a cultural theme like “asian” “night in a paris” or something then I would expect to  have atleast some food for the theme ya know?

@soccergurl: I’m getting married on the beach and having a VERY casual reception under a covered pavillion at the same beach park I’m marrying at.  When I say casual I mean like plastic cups, plates, etc(can’t have glass at park).  The caterer I went with I picked out 3 entrees….roast beef, a shrimp pasta primavera dish and the jambalaya.  With roasted red potatoes and grilled asparagus as sides.  Served buffet style with salad, assorted rolls, and fruit platter.

I say serve the food you want.  If the food is really good, I don’t see anyone complaining that it didn’t “match” your theme.

I think you can serve whatever type of food you want!
