Hey!  I just messaged you back with lots of ideas (including where we’re getting married!). I’m reposting below in case anyone else can use the info:

Garnet Hill: http://www.garnet-hill.com/ (my notes say this was about $100/person – including alcohol – give or take based on the cocktail hour costs)

Covewood: http://www.covewoodlodge.com/ (we loved this place – it’s tons of little cabins spread throughout the property and the setting would be gorgeous for photos. The problem was we didn’t want a tented wedding on grass and that’s pretty much your only option there. The owners are adorable and the chapel nearby – http://www.cardcow.com/64431/big-moose-community-chapel-new-york/ – is beautiful…I’m still sad we’re not getting married there)

Echo Lake Lodge: http://www.thelodgeonecholake.com/ (they were great with our budget but we wanted something a little less ballroom-like and more of a blank slate)

Canoe Island Lodge: http://www.canoeislandlodge.com/ (very cool looking – I never emailed them for information because we found Camp Chingachgook).

Dunham’s Bay Beach Resort: http://www.dunhamsbay.com/  (my friends got married here and they had an amazing wedding.  She told me they really were great and flexible.  I didn’t inquire for myself because we found the Camp.)

White Pine Camp: http://www.whitepinecamp.com/  (very pricey – but beautiful.)

Point o Pines/Jimbo’s: http://www.jimbosclub.com/  (horrible name – beautiful space….also somewhat pricey but I heard the food is great)

Northwoods Inn & Resort: http://www.northwoodsinnresort.com/  (my friend attended a wedding here and had wonderful things to say.  We didn’t really like the options for the ceremony so we didn’t go here – but, it is in a pretty setting!)

Summer Camps:  There are a ton of camps that rent out their space in the fall.  We found they were all really accomodating and great on the budget.  They do have the downfall that you will do more legwork because, not being a typical wedding venue, sometimes they won’t know exactly what to do in all instances. This issue was more than worth it to us to get what we got.  Here’s some camps in the ADK that we contacted:

http://www.cdymca.org/locations/CampChingachgook/AboutChingachgook/OurFacilities.aspx (our camp!!  We’re working with Heather who has been great)

http://www.forestlakecamp.com/  (Gene from this camp was AMAZING)

If you go south or west there are more.  You can search here for camps that have space available to rent: http://www.mysummercamps.com/rentals/

Good luck!!
