Okay so I need some advice. Wedding is in October.. colors are purple and orange and its a rustic theme with burlap banners and mason jars with raffia ties around the top, etc. Well, originally my fiance was okay with a tan tux and we decided it went great with our theme. Now 2 months before the wedding, he had a change of heart. He decided to go with a heather gray colored slim fit tux. It actually looks great on him, and I want him to be happy with what he is wearing, its his wedding too! So now Im wondering if the gray suits will clash with the rest of our theme!??? Such as with the burlap mainly. I know orange and purple go with the gray but what do you girls think about all of the rustic touches WITH the gray?? Any input helps… I only have two months to get this figured out! THANKS in advance!!

I don’t think you and your Fiance need to match the decor! My wedding is themed “Mountains to Sea” and so we’re using lots of green, yellow, browns/tans, and tin (silver/gray) so I see no reason why browns and grey can’t go together.

we are doing “Burlap and Bling” and our boys will be wearing gray too. I think you will be fine. Burlap can look as elegant as other fabrics when paired with candles and flowers. Gray is a little more October-ish too 🙂

I think grey is great! I actually think that If your having quite a bit of burlap it mite be overkill to have the guys in a similar color.

Grey will look great. It looks good next to every other color in the world, but really helps strong colors like purple and orange stand out. And you don’t want to blend too much with your decor – you’ll want to stand out from in in your pictures.

We’re doing mason jars, burlap, sunflowers, wild flowers- super rustic. And we just purchased dark grey suits for all the guys. It look fabulous with the purple and yellow (our colors)- and we will be incorporating those colors in with the burlap runners also.
I think it will look great- so I wouldn’t be worried!

Awesome!! Thank you girl!!! Helps me feel a lot better! I really appreciate it! You are all right… I definitely don’t want us blending in with our decor… such a good point, never thought of it that way! Thanks!!!

You guys do not have to match the theme! I got so upset at my sister when I showed her what hairpiece I wanted which has peacock feathers and a lot of greens and blues and she was like ” But that isn’t fall themed!” Our decor is very similar to yours, but I want to wear what speaks to me not what matches the table runners.

Go for the grey !!! If everything is too matchy matchy it will look overdone IMO.
Main thing is that he is comfortable and looks good . Pick your battles. It will be FINE .
Remember… a wedding is a PARTY not a PERFORMANCE —- if at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then it was PERFECT !

I think it will look beautiful…
My hubby wore gray. Our wedding colors included navy, white, green, and orange… My mother-in-law wore purple, and it looked so perfect with all of the other colors.
