I actually got married at Camarillo Ranch, and it was beautiful! It had more of a vintage vibe, as we got married on the huge lawn, not in the barn. I must admit, though, that it wasn’t that cheap (at least for us)…rental starts at $3000 (on a sunday!), and that only includes the venue. We had to bring in EVERYTHING: the catering, tables and chairs, lights, and there was not even a kitchen for the caterers to work out of. Also, we had only 2 hours to set everythng up, so we had to hire people ($$$) to help with that in the short time frame. If I had forseen all of the logistical challenges, I am not sure if I would have been willing to pay that much. But like I said, it was a beauuutiful venue! Our pictures should be awesome!

Another rustic venue my friend got married at was the Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim. It looks gorgeous! And I think it’s much more affordable and more rustic. She got married under an oak tree. I wish I had known of this place a year ago!

Try the Bard Mansion in Oxnard. It has a vintage/rustic feel and you can get the entire wedding for $5,000 not just the rental. It has an indoor reception space too in case of rain. It’s on the navy  base so no one knows it’s there. http://www.bardmansion.org
