I totally think it can be done but there is going to be a very fine line.  I think you should think about what you want more.  Are you more wanting a classic rustic feeling, or a wedding with bling.  Once you decide that, you can add rustic elements to a Bling Wedding, or a little bit of bling to a Rustic wedding.

I think if you do too much of both it might be overpowering and not look cohesive.

I think done right you can make anything work!  We had a very rustic vintage wedding, but there were a few things that were a little more blingy (mostly the bride and groom!)

I’m positive you can make it work, and look forward to seeing the results!

I think it can be done but I would say less is more.  For example, the cake photo has way too much bling to go with your rustic look.  If you changed the band around the layer to maybe a ribbon with a blingy-bling broch I think that would give you the bling but yet that rustic- charm

I think you can do it. I too want the we-are-blingytranslplants-in-a-rustic-universe look. Keep us posted!

Go rustic but add an antique flair. Golds and antiqued bronzes work fantastic with rustic tree slices and the woodsy feel. I got my cake stand at http://roxyheartvintage.com and it is simply stunning. You could add the bling around the cake or band the stand with something. Check them out. They might even do it for you!

@Kimberlyharris04: unless she changed the date, the wedding has already happened-too late for any more planning!

I am another one with the rustic bling approach. I am more into the rustic than the bling but here is mine switch the base out for tree stump
