I need your help fellow bees!
I’m getting married September 2011 and our colors are navy and yellow. I’m really trying to go for a rustic, whimsical themed wedding. I’m having a hard time imagining navy and yellow fitting with that theme but we already bought the bridesmaid dresses in navy.
I’m going to make my bridesmaids bouquets out of either fabric or crepe paper. We are creating our own centerpieces, using mason jars.
I made my inspiration board with my wedding dress, the bridesmaid dress and shoes. My family & friends are helping me with my brooch bouquet.
Should I add another color? Any ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

One way to tie “rustic” to your colors might be to use sunflowers – are they available at that time of year? Or black-eyed susans? There are lots of less formal yellow flowers, which would help a lot with your theme, I think.

I agree with above.. sunflowers would be a great less-formal flower to work into you theme. I also think if you used navy-dyed burlap for tables, it would have that dark rich color with your theme, but be more rustic of a material than typical tablecloths.

There are certainly lots of beautiful fabric flowers out there that would contribute to your rustic whimsical theme.

I think you can totally pull that off. It’ll be lovely. And don’t be afraid to venture away from a strict color set. For example in a bouquet of wild flowers.

@artwyopie: I was going to say the exact same thing. It really ties in the early fall time of the year. 🙂

I think navy and yellow would look great with some rustic burlap. And like the bees above say, don’t feel too tied in to your colour scheme. I’ve got one, with teal and apple, but I’m also not worried that our favours won’t be in those colours, and stuff like that. Go crazy with a wildflower bouquet!
