ksn1219:  It’s pretty obvious that your point isn’t to just say they are common in your area and you’re wondering if it’s the same in others…you’re hating on them too. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you don’t like that type of wedding, that’s fine…but just like I’d never post a topic about how I think mermaid dresses are fug, I wouldn’t post a topic about how rustic weddings are played out. My wedding was a year ago, yeah it was unique to the area, but I’m pretty sure when I started planning it two years ago, it was fairly unique everywhere. The trend blew up just like the trend for big formal weddings from the 80’s and 90’s stuck around for a while, and are now re-emerging. This crap comes and goes…so who gives a crap?

ksn1219:  Yes! It is EVERYWHERE! I’m from Missouri, and it seems like a lot of my friends are doing pastel, barn, rustic, romantic, vintage, burlap, lace weddings! In fact, that’s what I originally wanted to do, but holy cow! It’s taking over Pinterest, and that’s not my style (to follow the crowd). Instead, I’m doing a fabulously bright and fun wedding with no burlap in sight!

ksn1219:  Yes! I’m all about bright colors! And when I look back, I think to myself “Why did I EVER want something so muted?!?” It’s because of Pinterest….

It’s taking over most of the country. I wanted a barn wedding ever since I was a little girl and all of my friends laughed at me. Now they’re having barn/rustic weddings themselves. I’m a little annyoed to say the least. 😉

This planner I was working with tried to force the rustic theme on me..like literally force! She insisted that rustic was “in” right now and everyone was doing it blah blah.

Im from Texas & have seen a lot of brides go the rustic route and most of them were absolutely gorgeous but it doesn’t reflect my style.

ksn1219:  I’m in California and it’s pretty popular here as well- although I am in an extremely rural part of CA and not the city…
