My Hubby2be is in the air force & was deployed from the end of last year, and got home about a month ago. (UK military so our deployments are generally not as long as US ones from what I am aware). We are getting married in a month’s time & heading on honeymoon 2 days afterwards for 2 weeks. He has now been told he has another deployment which starts on 1st Aug for 3 months. It’s not a long one thankfully, but so soon after he just got home, and only 3 weeks after our wedding, I just feel a bit sad at the idea as we thought we would at least have the summer together in our new house/town that we are moving to but he is now heading away a few days after we get home from honeymoon.
There is nothing we can do, and I know 3 months is nothing in the grand scheme of things but suddenly coming a month before the wedding when we though we had at least 6 weeks together over the summer has been a bit of a shock and made me feel rather down & not very excited about the wedding/honeymoon as that is overshadowing it. Very silly as I am lukcy he is here for the wedding in the first place but 🙁
Did anyone else’s hubby leave soon after your wedding at all?

My husband was set to leave for OCS after our wedding (which is why we were enaged in March and married in August). I try to focus on how great it will be when he comes home. I actually like deployments (this probably makes me evil). I have the house to myself and am only responsible for myself- I do miss him when he’s gone and would prefer for him not to go on deployments, it’s just part of the job.

I might be in your shoes come the end of this year. We’re not sure when the wedding is going to be because we’re waiting on immigration and deployment stuff. But if we get our way it might be by the end of this year before he deploys in december. He would only be gone a few months due to him rotating out of the battalion (thank goodness) but he would be gone for at least several months right after the wedding. I’m not looking forward to it, but that is just how things work sometimes.

We will be married on July 2 and he gets deployed in October. we decided to get married in the summer so that we can have enough time for any paperwork that is needed, immigration and financial, done before his deployment. and so we enjoy being married at least a few months before he leaves.
