So last night Fiance and I got home and FI went upstairs to the loft where our two cats usually hang out. Well once Fiance got up there he saw our 5year old cat Lavender laying on the floor and once she heard him she started crying so loud. So I went running up there and it looked like part of her body was paralyzed. So I started crying and we called the emergency vet and packed her up to bring her in there, we both thought that maybe she had a stroke or something or eaten something and gotten a blockage. She was fine on Monday going up and down the stairs playing with our dog, eating and drinking.
Well once in the er. vet, the doc came in to talk us. It was bad news he said and that she was a very sick kitty, he said that his best guess would be that she had some sort of malignant cancer, or some kind of chronic disease. And that she had gone into liver failure, and that she had gone blind, and that she wasn’t going to make it. =( He said our best option would be to let her go peacefully and not to let her suffer anymore because he didn’t think she would even be able to make it through testing to see if it was cancer, or some sort of disease. So both Fiance and I started crying and we had her brought back into the room so we could say our goodbyes. I swear losing a pet is harder than losing a human relative sometimes.
I am so sad, she was the first member of our little family. Fiance got her for me from the pound for Valentines of 2007. And I’m so sad that she isn’t going to be with our family anymore. We’re going to miss her so much! So RIP Lavender, your always going to have a special place in my heart, as you will always be the first addition to our family! <3

Oh hon – (((HUGS)))
Your post brought tears to my eyes. It’s never easy to lose a fur baby. They become such a part of who you are and forever leave their paw print in our hearts.
My dog passed away suddenly in 2008 and I found some comfort online at sites like http://www.rainbowbridge.com and http://www.petloss.com.
It might help a little. I’ll be thinking about you. You’ll never get over it but you will get through it.

Thanks everyone! I just can’t get over how fast everything happened, like literally in a day. I’m just thankful we still have our crazy dog and our other crazy kitty, and i’m so thankful he loves playing/sleeping with our dog so he doesn’t get too lonely.
