So sorry! I cried when we lost our first house, but now I look back and compare it to where we are and I love our house so much better. We lost 4 houses, bid asking price or more, before we got our offer accepted. It sucks but you will end up in a house you love, I promise.

Ugh that is awful. We just lost out on a house we fell in love with. I also don’t buy that “its not meant to be” nonsense everyone will tell you. But really, the market is flooded right now, if you don’t get it you will find something else you love.

I am sorry that you are stressed. I still remember walking away from our first house love. It sucked so hard and kept us up very late for several nights. But you know what? It really was for the best. We walked away from 2 loves without offering because of their condition. We lost 3 houses because of unexpected inspection results, PITA sellers, and a short sale BPO disagreement. And our 4th contract was a breeze from start to finish. This is the house we were meant to have. It’s heaven, and it was absolutely worth the heartache to get here. So if this deal doesn’t work out, it’s because there is something even better out there for you. Hang in there!

Is there any way you can look into another mortgage broker?  It might cost you extra but if you are having problems with them, it might be worth going to someone else.

I remember the feeling.  We saw a house that was THE ONE.  It was amazing, we saw it one evening after work… the sun was setting directly in the back, and streaming over the vineyard that the house backed up to, across the HUGE yard that we were arleady envisioning our backyard wedding ceremony in, into the large family room that was off the kitchen.  We had just ONE more house to see the next morning and was prepared to make a full asking price offer just to make sure that other one wasnt better cause the pictures were amazing.  We saw that one, my realtor was going back to the office to draw up the offer and we got the call.  Just 30 minutes after we had finished the viewing the night before, the sellers actually accepted another offer! We never even had the chance to fight for it.

At that point, we’d seen just about every single house in the towns we wanted to be in that fit our criteria, so we decided to go for the second best, a house we’d seen 3 weeks ago.  We told him we wanted to go see it that night one more time before putting in an offer.  Then we get the call.  We wont be seeing it, cause guess what, they just accepted an offer THAT MORNING!

To cut this short… we ended up having to up our budget a bit, and seriously ended up in the house in a house even more perfect that I thought we could.  The location is better than the other two ‘perfect’ houses, the layout is perfect, the yard is flatter… dont worry, it’ll work  out even if it doesnt feel like it will right now.

@PrncssDva:  The first house we put an offer on i LOVED.  We were off by $1500 – we didn’t budge, the seller wouldn’t budge either.  We lose it.  two weeks later I found a bigger, better house with more of our wishlist and got that one.  I thank god everyday the first one fell through.  If you lose it, it wasn’t meant to be and you will find something comparable, if not better.
