@Wellington Bride: I am sorry your mother said such hurtful things. It sounds like she might be insecure so she trys to tear you down to make herself feel better. Don’t let her words ruin such a happy time. It sounds like you are going to marry a wonderful supportive man.
I think you look like a beautiful princess.

@Wellington Bride: You have amazing boobs and gorgeous skin. Just sayin!
And the dress is gorgeous too! Dont change a thing!

You look STUNNING. I don’t know what your mother could be seeing-definitely not you in that gown, but some strange image in her head. You are gorgeous. And that gown looks like it was made for you!

You do not look fat at all! She’s wrong. I have bulimia and a critical (though well-meaning) mother too. I don’t really have any advice about it but know that you are not the only one. It sucks 🙁 Try to ignore her and just rock your beautiful dress.

I struggled with Aneroxia. I know the feeling but coming from the opinion of a stranger, you look wonderful in that dress! You dont look fat nor pregnant. I think it accents you perfectly. I agree with above, the color goes fantastic with your skin. Also coming from a stranger with a crazy mom, I think shes just holding back some jealousy or hurtful feelings on losing her little girl. Pay her no mind. This is your wedding and nobody elses. Let it roll off your shoulders and get pumped about marrying your soul mate!!! <3

Even my mom spying over my shoulder said “oh she looks beautiful” I said yeah and let her read what you wrote and she was in shock. You clearly look great!

For whatever it’s worth, I just wanted to say I think you look like royalty in that dress. 🙂

I’ve got to jump in here and tell you that you have my favorite dress on the Boards. I mean, it is classic, ethereal, and just plain gorgeous.
I think that you look stunning, and that you have a timeless beauty about you that will shine on your wedding day.
I’m sorry that your mother has a skewed perspective, but to the casual observer, you are simply lovely, and the dress only enhances that loveliness.

You look RADIANT in your dress! Beautiful and happy.

Gosh thank you! That is so lovely.
And again to everyone – thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are seriously amazing. The support and rallying round has just made me feel like a million dollars. It truly means everything to me.
And to my naughty but wonderful fiance- what a sweet thing to do! I’m super glad he didn’t peek at my dress though!!

This is so sweet! Congrats you two, you make a lovely, supportive couple.

You look beautiful and the dress is perfect on you! Please don’t take anything your mother is saying to heart. Your figure looks fine! Do not stress about your weight. And it seems that you have such a sweet fiance that loves you and already knows how beautiful you are inside and out.

Latest update – my mother rang tonight, spoke to my fiance and has uninvited us to Christmas. She said “why don’t you just not come then” and I called her bluff and said “okay, that might be the easiest”. At the time I felt really strong but now I just feel a huge amount of guilt. Do you guys think I should call her back and plead for forgiveness and say we’ll come? I’m just so conscious of our wedding in 28 days…I was trying so hard to keep a fight at bay….

No way. She is manipulating you and that is just not okay. I am so sorry she is being so ugly. You are getting ready to start your own wonderful family. I really encourage you to not get sucked into this co-dependant thing she is doing. If she is saying all these ugly things to you just recently, spending Christmas apart is most probably the very best thing you can do for yourself.

what a lovely update! I am so glad to hear you are being so positive and understand your mother is inherently narcissistic and you have to ignore her to protect yourself. I also think inviting your students is a wonderful and sweet idea and they will be thrilled to see your turn into Mrs.
You look stunning in your gown and your fiancé will think you are the most beautiful bride there ever was.
Stay strong and best wishes.
