@Wellington Bride:  Three questions: Do YOU like the dress?

Does it make YOU happy?

Are YOU excited for your FH to see you on the big day wearing it?

If the answer to these questions is “yes” then there is absolutely nothing wrong with your dress.

I actually think it looks quite nice, it’s not what I picked for myself, but that’s why there are so many different styles of wedding dresses and not just one.

The whole purpose of this wedding dress is to make you happy and to make you feel like the bride you are on your wedding day.

I hope your fitting goes well ๐Ÿ™‚

You look amazing in the dress! You have a wonderful figure and radiant skin.

My mom has been on my weight too, especially when I gained in college. My sympathies.

Wow. There are some mothers out there who always have such a big mouth when it comes to their daughters appearance. Who cares what her opinion is, you look gorgeous in your wedding dress. There is nothing wrong with the way you look at all. She is so caught up in HERSELF that she tries to find ways to put other people down because she probably hates her own body. I can’t stand people like that, especially if it is your own mother I know it can be hard to deal with. I know when I have a daughter I would never even THINK to say such hurtful things to her, and I can’t imagine why mothers would ever feel the need to say such things, and I am sure your mothers attitude was what caused your bulimia in the first place.

Like I said though- you look stunning and don’t let anyone tell you differently because it is ridiculous.

@Wellington Bride: I didn’t see your update before I responded. Sadly, something I’m learning is that when people show us their true colors, we have to believe them. This will undoubtedly be something to discuss further with your therapist, but you now know that even when you agree upon boundaries with your mother, she will overstep them. Best to think of ways to minimize her presence in your life, I would think.

Congrats for handling this so well, though. Thank god you were able to break the cycle of verbal abuse and self-hatred that your mother has imposed on you.

@Wellington Bride:  no offense to your mother, but she sounds like a royal b**ch and someone that you don’t need in your life if all she’s going to do is put you down…I think you look great in your dress…I weigh over 300 pounds and would KILL to have your body type! Don’t let anyone tell you that, ESPECIALLY someone like your mother…if your future hubby thinks you’re beautiful, that’s what REALLY matters! You seem like you’ve come a LONG way from being bulimic and I commend you and hopefully you will continue working on loving yourself as well ๐Ÿ™‚

@nibbler:  what the $u*K? did you REALLY say your dad was CRYING because you are 120 lbs and not 95 lb?? no offense at all but was your dad drunk? I’m not trying to be funny, i’m really serious. I can only imagine a drunk person saying something like that (and even if he was drunk, it’s STILL crazy!!) anyway, i am so sorry for all the crazy crap you must have had to go through over the years with a dad like that.

The indignant wind in my sails was just trimmed a bit by the adorable groom-ness up above there. So: AWWWWWW.

But no seriously, I have to give it to you straight. Your mom is a crazy bitch. You look exquisite and regal. End of story.
